    Download Solidworks

    Mapping PASS (W:) Drive

    If you map to your PASS from home and your internet service provider (ISP) is not Penn State, you will need to install Penn State's VPN client.

  • Open 'My computer' from your desktop
  • Click 'Map Network Drive' under 'Tools' on the top menu bar
  • Enter the following in the 'Folder' field: \\win.pass.psu.edu\youruserID (where 'youruserID' is your PSU user ID)
  • Click 'Finish'

    Connecting to PASS using SSH

    Using SSH "Quick Connect" Enter sftp.pass.psu.edu or splogin.cac.psu.edu. For more detailed instructions click here.

    Mapping U: Drive

  • From Windows Explorer, map \\udrive.win.psu.edu\users as U:
  • If connecting from a non-Penn State network, connect to the Penn State VPN before mapping U: drive.
  • If connecting from Home or Office please click here.

    Rapid Prototyping

  • Z-Corp Z402 Rapid Prototyper
  • 3D printing from Solid Works or Pro/E models
  • Models must be submitted in STL format
  • User must have PSU computer account to submit models, or e-mail to Scott Pusey (wpusey@engr.psu.edu)
  • Models can be coated with glue (cyanoacrylate) or waxed
  • Cost is $4.50 / cubic inch (shipping, if necessary, is additional)
  • Cost paid via Penn State Department (please provide department name and budget number – please see your instructor for this information). Non-PSU accounts may pay by check made payable to Penn State University.
