Housing Retrofitting
Nueva Esperanza, El SalvadorEl Salvador has numerous volcanoes and experiences many tremors and earthquakes. One large earthquake in the early part of this decade destroyed many homes and severely damaged the remaining houses in the village of Nueva Esperanza. Penn State students evaluated the damaged homes and engaged in retrofitting them to minimize damage when the next quake strikes.
